On July 6 and 7, 2017, Troyes was at the heart of the planetary event that is the Tour de France. For the 9th time, the Grande Boucle made a stopover in the Tricasse city… and more than twice! With, first of all, a spectacular sprint finish won by the German Marcel Kittel on Thursday July 6 and, the next day, the departure of the peloton towards Nuits-Saint-Georges through the streets of the city, under the cheers of an extremely large audience.
Beyond the sporting aspect, these two days were also and above all a great moment of celebration, thanks to the many activities set up by the City of Troyes, the merchants of the city center, the various local and Aube partners, and finally all the Trojans, cycling enthusiasts or not, who came en masse and gave our city a positive and attractive image in the eyes of the whole world, making it a little more part of the legend of the Tour!
In 2017, the passage of the Tour de France in Troyes attracted 50,000 spectators.
